Participation Activity

1. The IMF website contains a page entitled “Questions in the News” http://www.imf.org/external/np/exr/qin/index.asp. This page takes questions raised by journalists and others about the IMF's activities. It presents edited excerpts from IMF officials and IMF statements to answer these questions.
   1. Read through some of the questions posed here.
   2. Then, search through some major international news sources to find articles on issues that may be of interest to the IMF. Formulate your own question about IMF involvement (or lack of involvement) in the issue.
   3. Try to formulate a response to your question.
2. We are all more connected to the global economy than we often realize. Make a list of some of the products or stores you use on a daily basis. Search these products/stores online. What kind of international connections do you come up with? How integrated are you into the global economy?
